Travis Hawthorne

Greetings, Panthers!

My name is Chef Travis Hawthorne, and I am the new Culinary Arts teacher here at Liberty  Hill High School.  I am very excited and proud to be a part of the Panther family in Liberty Hill.  I am looking forward to a very exciting and appetizing year in our amazing kitchen, as we create a series of wonderful dishes, expand our culinary knowledge and further develop our passion and appreciation for food and where our food comes from.

I am coming from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts down the road in Austin, Texas, where I worked as a "Chef Presenter" for the school.  It was through my previous position that I was first introduced to the incredible students, staff and culinary program here at Liberty Hill High School this past school year.  I am also an alum of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, where I developed the skills and appreciation of the food service industry that propelled me into my successes in the Central Texas food scene.  I hope during my time here at LHHS, I will be able to inspire and lead you through an amazing culinary experience, so that by the time you graduate from LHHS and move into the world, whether you enter the food service industry or go on to be successful in future endeavors, you have a well-rounded base of knowledge on not just how to cook well for yourself, but have a deeper appreciation of where our food comes from.

I am a happily married father of three children, one of whom will be a sophomore here at LHHS, and I live with my three children and wife Stephanie in Round Rock currently.  I am also a proud, retired United States Marine and I lam very passionate about my cooking, and even more about eating.  I am also an avid SCUBA diver, and I enjoy reading classical literature and listening to classic 80's music.

I wish you all the absolute very best in the coming school year and I am very much looking forward to a great year together with each and every one of you.

Semper Fidelis.
